PURPOSE:To enable control of fuel blowing rate at each tuyere by irradiating a raceway with a light beam from a tuyere, executing image processing to a reflected beam and measuring spot diameter of the beam to be picked up. CONSTITUTION:The low wave length range of light beam as variable output through an optical fiber 2 from a beam source 1 is radiated to the raceway from the tuyere 4. The reflected light beam is caught with a high speed shutter camera 8 through a half-mirror 3 and a filter 7. Then, the image processing is executed with an image analysis 9. The spot diameter D of light beam picked up on screen is measured to calculate the depth of raceway. By changing output of a monochromatic light so as to approximate to spontaneous beam from the high temp. solid picked up on the screen, solid temp. in the raceway is measured from calibration curve of the pre-obtd. solid temp. By this method, the actual measured value in circulated direction of a blast furnace can be obtd. under non-contacting.
