WATER CHANNEL FORMED OUT OF U-SHAPED BLOCK AND LAYING OF U-SHAPED BLOCK FOR FORMING WATER CHANNEL

PURPOSE:To prevent the freezing of a water channel by bonding or fixing resin foam blocks to both sides of a U-shaped block, and so laying the resin foam blocks as to be adjacent to both sides at a level lower than the upper end of the U-shaped block for placing a concrete slab. CONSTITUTION:An excavated water channel 1 is formed and a foundation 3 is formed out of pebbles or the like spread all over the bottom of the channel 1. In addition, many U-shaped blocks 4, 4 and so forth are jointed and fixed onto the foundation 3, thereby forming a water channel A. Then, resin foam blocks 5 containing closed cells and engraved with a plurality of or many continuous or discontinuous parallel fine grooves having intersections from face and reverse sides at the bottom, are laid at both sides of the blocks 4, 4 and so forth. The blocks are backfilled up to the upper ends 5' and 5' thereof. Then, the resin foam blocks 8 and 8 of the required thickness are laid in a gap land concrete slabs 9 and 9 are placed thereupon. According to the aforesaid construction, rain water drops do not stagnate at the sides of the blocks and the water channel A can be prevented from being frozen.
