NEW MATERIAL:A complex of formula I (n is an integer 0-10; m is an integer 1-6; X is halogen). USE:An oxygen adsorbent and desorbent applicable to the living body. PREPARATION:5,10,15,20-Tetra[alpha,alpha,alpha,alpha-o-aminophenyl]por phyrin is condensed with a omega-alkoxycarbonylalkylacid chloride in the presence of pyridine in anhydrous tetrahydrofuran to give 5,10,15,20-tetra[alpha,alpha,alpha,alpha-(o-substituted amidophenyl)] porphyrin, which is then dissolved in a small amount of dimethylformamide (DMF) and reacted with an equal amount of 1N aqueous solution of KOH to afford a terminal carboxylic acid type complex. The resultant complex is treated with triethylamine, etc. to form a mixed acid anhydride, which is reacted with one terminal aminooligoethylene glycol of formula II to afford the aimed complex of formula I .
