PURPOSE:To effectively, efficiently and technically easily form a coating film in the production of a film-coated glass by preparing a mixed paste from a low-melting-point coloring glass powder and a specified dispersion medium and applying the paste on a glass sheet by the doctor blade method. CONSTITUTION:The mixed paste consisting of a low-melting-point coloring glass powder and a dispersion medium is applied on a glass sheet and fused to the sheet by heat treatment to produce a film-coated glass. Namely, 2-4 pts.wt. of the low-melting-point coloring glass powder having =80mum grain diameter and in which the content of the grains having 5-50mum diameter is controlled to =95% is added to 1 pts.wt. of a dispersion medium prepared by dissolving an org. binder and a plasticizer in water and kneaded to prepare a mixed paste having 100-400cps viscosity. The paste is directly applied on a glass sheet by the doctor blade method. Alternatively, the paste is transiently applied on a releasable sheet, the sheet is cut and stuck to a glass sheet, and the releasable sheet is stripped off at an opportune moment.
