NEW MATERIAL:A compound of formula I (R1-R4 are each H, halogen, 1-4C, alkyl, 2-5C alkenyl, 1-4C alkynyl, 1-4C alkoxy, 1-4C haloalkyl, cyano, etc.; R5 is halomethyl). EXAMPLE:N'-tert. butyl-N-dichlorofluoromethylsulfenyl-N,N'-dibenzoyl hydrazine. USE:An insecticide. Useful for pest control in paddy, fields, orchards, forests or environmental and hygienic circumstances. Low toxic and highly active even to drug-resistant pests. PREPARATION:The objective compound of the formula I can be obtained by reaction in an inert solvent (e.g. hexane) in the presence of an appropriate base (e.g. triethylamine) at -20 deg.C to the boiling point of the solvent between (A) a N'-tert. butyl-N,N'-dibenzoyl hydrazine of formula II and (B) a halogenomethylsulfenyl halide of formula R5SX (X is halogen).
