STRUCTURE OF INNER SHELL IN WASHER OF DOUBLE SHELL ROTATING DRUM TYPE BUILT-IN STEEL BALL

PURPOSE:To improve washing efficiency by a method wherein the inner surface of an inner shell is formed into a horizontally cylindrical configuration, the inner edges of baffle plates are inclined and the diameter of a steel ball is made larger than at least the distance between the inner edges thereof at one end thereof. CONSTITUTION:When an inner shell 1, together with an outer shell 4, is rotated about a center line C, a steel ball 3 revolves on its own axis in the direction (b) and also rolls down in the direction (a) by being brought up with baffle plates 2. The lower part of the steel ball 3 held between the baffle plates 2 is moved therebetween into proximity with the inner surface of the inner shell 1 at one end thereof. At the other end of the inner shell 1, the steel ball 3 is supported on the inner edges 2' of the baffle plates 2 and a space S is defined by enclosing by the baffle plates 2, the steel balls 3 and the inner surface of the inner shell 1, whereby an object to be cleaned is stirred and washed by the rotation and dropping of the steel balls 3.
