PURPOSE:To clarify insufficiently understood unlearnt knowledge by extracting a problem group related to a practiced unit from a first storage means and extracting and outputting a hierarchical partial problem group corresponding to each problem from a second storage means and discriminating the learning condition of premised knowledge in accordance with the correct or wrong answer to this output. CONSTITUTION:A learning assisting device 11 presents problems of the unit educated at present out of problems, which are stored in a first storage means 2, to a trainee. The trainee inputs answers to the presented problems. Knowledge stored in a second storage means 3 is used with respect to these answers to discriminate knowledge learnt by the trainee. Consequently, the process of answering, the knowledge applying capability, or the like of the trainee is clarified to recognize the accurate knowledge learning condition. Thus, the probability that the trainee is repeatedly educated with respect to already learnt knowledge is reduced, and the probability that the trainee omits education with respect to insufficiently learnt knowledge, and the anxiety that the trainee cannot obtain the sufficient education effect is reduced.
