MICROWAVE DRYING METHOD FOR LOG OF RAW MATERIAL WOOD AND RAW BAMBOO

PURPOSE:To perform a uniform drying of both log of material wood and a raw bamboo and enable a drying stress generated by an uneven drying to be restricted to a minimum by a method wherein inner portions of the log of material wood and raw bamboo are dried by a microwave drying process and outer portions of the log of material wood and the raw bamboo are dried by an external heating process in concurrent manner. CONSTITUTION:Seal material 4 such as silicone rubber or the like is filled at both cut ends 2 of a log 1 material wood, thereafter metallic foils 5 such as aluminum foils are adhered to the cut ends and then an inner temperature measuring hole 6 is formed at one cut end. Then, the log 1 of material wood is placed within a micro- wave hot air drying chamber and a thermometer probe 7 is inserted into the inner temperature measuring hole 6. then, radiation of microwave is started to heat the log 1 of material wood. When an inner temperature of the log 1 of material wood reaches its predetermined value, hot air of which temperature and humidity are already controlled is supplied into the drying chamber and concurrently an output of the microwave controlled and the drying operation is carried out while keeping the inner temperature at its predetermined temperature. The drying operation is completed at a stage where a weight of the log 1 of material wood reaches its predetermined value.
