PURPOSE:To enhance the use efficiency of continuous recording paper and to eliminate the danger of ignition in a printing and recording apparatus performing recording using the continuous recording paper, for example, roll paper or folded paper efficiently. CONSTITUTION:In a printing and recording apparatus performing recording to continuous recording paper P by executing paper feed, recording and paper discharge processes, a recording means 50 applying recording to the continuous recording paper P, the feed means 40 of the continuous recording paper P arranged on the downstream side of the recording means 50 and a pull-out means 41 pulling out the continuous recording paper P from the supply means 40 in the direction reverse to the flow direction of the recording process are mounted and recording is carried out while the continuous recording paper P pulled out by a predetermined quantity by the pull-out means 41 is pulled back to the flow direction of the recording process.
