LOW MELTING LOW SILVER BRAZING FILLER METAL

PURPOSE:To allow the execution of various kinds of brazing in the atmosphere with good workability and high reliability by specifying the compsn. of the low melting low silver brazing filler metal. CONSTITUTION:The compsn. of the low melting low silver brazing filler metal, expressed on the basis of weight, contains 0.1-15% manganese, 1-5% silver, =0.1% and 1% nickel, and 1-45% in total of =1 kinds among tin, lead, zinc, indium and bismuth, and the balance copper and unavoidable impurities. The content of the silver is lowered in this way and the brazing filler metal does not contain harmful elements such as cadmium. In addition, the m.p. is low and the wettability and penetrating property are good. Brazing in the atmosphere with this brazing filler metal is thus possible. Various kinds of brazing are, therefore, executable in the atmosphere with the good workability and the high reliability.
