METHOD FOR DIVIDING AND PLANTING BELT-LIKE RUSH SEEDLINGS

PURPOSE:To prevent the non-uniformity of divided rush seedlings and the irregular planting of the seedlings by connecting the subterranean stems of the continuous sheet-like plural rush seedlings to each other with a tape-like connecting means into belt-like seedlings, successively dividing the belt-like seedlings into planting portions and subsequently planting the divided seedlings. CONSTITUTION:When connected seedlings 1c carried with belts 12, 18 are nipped between press rollers 22, 23 and passed through, upper and lower tapes 29 are pressed, delivered with press rollers 22, 23 and bonded to the base end portions if the seedlings. The bonded seedlings are further pressed with carrying rollers 24, 26 and carried. The two side tapes 29 and the root portions of the seedlings between the tapes 29 are wound with a yarn 31 to integrally fix the tapes and the root portions of the seedlings. The tape portions of the belt-like seedlings 1f are successively nipped and cut with cutters into planting seedling portions 1g comprising approximately twelve or thirteen seedlings and subsequently planted in a field at prescribed intervals with the traveling of the frame, thereby facilitating the handling of the seedlings and permitting to continuously link the automatic feeding, automatic cutting and planting of the seedling for improving the efficiency of the work.
