DEVICE FOR PRODUCING ELASTIC WAVES IN A KOERPER AND FOR SEISMIC PROSPECTS

Described is an acoustic prospecting process in which elastic waves are generated in a body by means of air-transmitted acoustic energy in order to detect structural features and inhomogeneities in the body by the analysis of the reflected waves. In this process, air-transmitted acoustic energy is generated electromagnetically within the frequency range between 100 and 1500 Hz, the amplitude and frequency characteristics of the acoustic energy being selected according to the required penetration depth and/or resolution.
