The dew point in the combustion air is raised by conversion of the latent heat in the flue gases to latent or vapour-bound energy in the incoming combustion air.This involves a ring-shaped outer flue gas channel (3) in which is fitted a heat exchanger (4), a flue gas pipe assembly (13) arranged inside the outer flue gas channel (3), and an air intake channel system around the inner flue gas pipe assembly, flow-wise sepd. from the outer channel (3). The air intake channel system conducts the incoming combustion air circulating around the flue gas pipes (13).A spray unit (20) sprays water into the combustion air in connection with passage through the air intake channel system and before the air circulates around the flue gas pipes.
