The subject matter of the invention is a container for the optional transport of items or of pourable or flowable products. The container has a bottom (3), a top (4), longitudinal side walls (5) and transverse side walls. Provided in the vicinity of one transverse side wall (7) in the lower region of the container is a closeable outlet opening (11) for the pourable or flowable product and said transverse wall is constructed as a door which can be swivelled about at least one preferably vertical axle. The closeable outlet opening (11) is assigned to a wall (19), whose dimension corresponds to the two other transverse side walls (6, 7), which is arranged directly behind the transverse side wall constructed as a door (7) and can be swivelled about a transverse axle (10), extending in the vicinity of the top of the container, and can be fixed in two end positions. In one end position, the swivellable wall (19) is in a parallel arrangement relative to the transverse side walls of the container and, in the other end position, it lies in the vicinity of the top (4) and at least approximately parallel thereto.
