Cermet thick-film resistor - has flush conductive track pressed together with resistive track(s) into ceramic green sheet over polished surface

The smoothly ground or highly polished surface (2) of steel, ceramic or polyester (1) is coated with a sepg. layer (11) of, e.g., silicone before imposition of a cermet resistive coating (12) to form the resistive track(s). Conductive tracks are added as a layer (13) of Ag-Pg (Au or Pt) in two or more parts overlapping the edges of the resistive track (12). Both layers (12, 13) are pressed (20) into flexible ceramic green tape (14). USE/ADVANTAGE - Esp. for a potentiometer or force (pressure) transducer. A very smooth and wear-resistance surface can withstand high temp. and needs no after-treatment.
