Water droplets carried through a horizontal high pressure steam pipe fall to the sole of the pipe and collect. The novelty is that water is removed by a collector drain formed by a tube which projects up through the sole of the pipe and whose upper diameter is greater than the lower diameter where it joins flush with the sole of the steam pipe; and that the base inlet reaches to the sole of the steam pipe. Part (7) of the steam (6) flows through a pipe (11) in with a suitable collector-drain assembly (1) which incorporates a support (2), an intermediate tube (3), a hole (4), a lower rim (5), an inlet (7), an outlet (8), a cap (9), a lower edge (12) and a collar (13). The collar around the lower part of the support is pref. arranged below the sole of the hot steam pipe. USE/ADVANTAGE - Water droplets are collected and drained from a high pressure steam pipe.
