IC engine throttle flap actuator with variable gearing - providing stepless variation of planetary gear ratio by electronic control, with EM brake released in emergency
The position of the accelerator pedal (FFG) coupled via planetary gearing (P1-P4, Z1-Z4) to the throttle flap (DK) is signalled by a potentiometer (1, 2) to a motor controller (MS). A rotary potentiometer (3) provides feedback of throttle position for use with engine speed and temp. signals (n, T) in optimal control of the gear drive (10). A spring (20) restores the flap (DK) to an emergency position defined by a stop (17) near the idling stop (18) in the event of fault in the drive. ADVANTAGE - Electronically controlled transmission from accelerator pedal provides optimal control with failsafe mechanism permitting emergency running.
