Encoding of place or time-dependent analogue functions - assembling successive samples with symbolic significance into quasi-words for stepwise abstraction in hierarchical associative memory
Encoding of place or time-dependent analogue functions - assembling successive samples with symbolic significance into quasi-words for stepwise abstraction in hierarchical associative memory
A sampling device for the time-dependent functions is followed by a difference generator, a reshaping device, a quantiser and a buffer accumulator in which as many intermediate data are assembled as are necessary to a useful quasi-word. This is written into the rows of the lowest associative storage level of a sematic memory for redundancy redn. to the point where complete syllables or words are identifiable. USE/ADVANTAGE - In speech processing, speaker need not emphasise intervals between syllables whose starts and finishes can be marked by system itself.
