The connection between the ignition switch (SZ) and the starter motor switch (S1) is wired to an input (FSE) of the engine control (MS). The controlling input (SE) is taken via a PWM interface (P) from the transmission control (GS). The voltage induced by the starter motor (AL) reduces exponentially the engine control input. If drive is then selected the starter switch opens. During starting, the interface delivers a PWM signal of constant duty ratio for recognition by the engine control. ADVANTAGE - Facility for operation with controls requiring no additional connection or wiring.
