Immersion outlet of a tundish, supplying molten metal to a continuous casting mould, contains a channel (2) which has a nozzle shape at the inlet (3), to receive a stopper, with its narrowest section at the transition (4) to the channel. From this point, the channel widens continuously to the outlet, at which there is a nozzle-shaped widening (6). The circular cross section of the channel increases in cross section by 0.02-0.8%/mm of channel length. ADVANTAGE - Quiescent flow in the mould.
