The prepn. of biofertilisers comprises drying food residues and waste and related bio-waste or other bio-wastes to give a fertiliser which can be used for soils in agriculture, gardening or other areas of application. The dried wastes can be further comminuted and/or powdered. The wastes can be crushed prior to drying. Suitable food related wastes are egg and nut shells, fruit and vegetable peel, coffee grounds and other suitable bio waste are cut flowers and bits of plants. ADVANTAGE - The process is simple. The prod. is easy to transport, in that it is dry. It is possible to organise a better network of system units as small plants, distributed in residential areas compared to traditional composting processes. Small drying units can be installed. The process saves energy, in that wind and solar energy can be used in many areas. The process is economical. The dry prod. is hygienic and is highly effective, in that the important biological processes occur in the soil.
