A bank (6) of capacitors is provided, which stores the energy delivered from the input induction element (3;51;71). An output transformer (9;81) receives the stored energy transmitted from the capacitor bank and delivers this to an external user load (13). A switching unit (8) controls the input induction element and the output transformer. A control unit (10) controls the switching unit (8), so that the DC current fed in to the external user load (13) can be held at a constant voltage. A HF filter (2) is connected to the rectifier unit (1). The input induction element is an input transformer (3), and the stored energy of the bank of capacitors is transmitted to the output transformer (9), which is passed to the user load (13), and is consistent with a flyback method. USE/ADVANTAGE - Current supply unit. Wave form distortion of incoming AC current is reduced and unit is highly dependable.
