The main support (3) has a hemispherical upper part (6) and a cylindrical lower part (5) which can rotate together about a vertical azimuthal axis (9) on a fixed pedestal (7). The e.g. paraboloidal reflector (2) is mounted on a hemispherical carrier (4) whose base (13) is joined to the hemisphere (6) at an angle (alpha) of 47 or 45 deg. The carrier (4) and main support (3) are rotated by independent drives (18,10) with pinions (19,11) so that the axis (21) of the reflector (2) can be pointed skywards in any direction. USE/ADVANTAGE - Support for radar or radio dish. The risk of formation of ice esp. in Arctic or Antarctic operations is reduced.
