Improved water retention of the mat is achieved if the mat comprise the fibrous mixture (A) with a cellular fabric (B) on the underside, and has a water storage medium (D) equally distributed amongst the seeds (C) in the mat. the water storage medium (D) consists of particles of an organic copolymer.
