摘要
The two opposed pistons are connected to a common crankshaft via connecting rods. The rotary axis of the crankshaft intersects and crosses the rotary axes of the pistons. The crankshaft has three crank pins, the central of which is connected to the piston near to the crankshaft, whilst the other two outer pins, displaced through a crank angle of 180 deg. to that central, are connected to the piston remote from the crankshaft. This latter piston is the outlet piston (3), and in dia. is smaller than or equal to the inlet piston (2) and shorter in stroke. The main bearing pins (4b, 4c) of the crankshaft, or at least one of them, are arranged between the central (4a) and outer (4d, 4e) pins. The stroke of the outlet piston is shorter than the dia. of the outer crank pins, partic. that (4d) on the drive side. USE/ADVANTAGE - In a two-stroke diesel engine with opposed pistons, to achieve a high quality of scavenging, using low amounts of air, and leaving a low amt. of residual gas in the cylinder.
