The invention relates to a method for propelling sea or land vehicles using the wind with the aid of two or more than two rigid sail elements with symmetrical aerodynamic profile. The method is characterised by the fact that the elements are placed by articulation so that the whole produces the effect of a curved sail assembly and so that the proximity of the successive elements provides, by a slit effect, an interaction of the sail assembly elements which greatly increases the lift thereof. The method can be applied particularly to the propulsion of land or sea vehicles, to keels and drop keels of ships propelled by the wind and to wind machines. IMAGE
