The present invention relates to a device for protecting habitats or industrial or non-industrial premises from fires and, more particularly, forest fires. It is characterised in that it creates a vault of water imprisoning, within it, the habitat which is thus in a flame-impenetrable cloud. This device is positioned on the ground and on high points such as trees or on the building. It may be supplied with water from swimming pools, canals, or potable-water mains and its action may be reinforced by the use of foaming or retarding substances. IMAGE
