METHOD AND EQUIPMENT FOR ON-LINE DETECTION OF DAMPING CHARACTERISTIC OF LAMINATED DAMPING STEEL SHEET

PURPOSE:To measure directly the damping characteristic of a steel strip of a laminated damping steel sheet moving on a line operation. CONSTITUTION:The equipment comprises a vibration generating roll 4 which is provided between a plurality of supporting rolls supporting a steel strip 1 and gives vibration to the steel strip, a microphone 6 which is provided in the vicinity of the vibration generating roll 4 for catching an acoustic signal generated in the steel strip, an amplifier 7 which amplifies the caught acoustic signal, a signal processing device 8 which analyzes a sound pressure waveform of the acoustic signal and calculates the vibration characteristic of a steel sheet, and a display device 9 which displays the damping characteristic of the steel sheet subjected to the calculation.
