DRAWING CONTROL METHOD FOR ITALIC CHARACTER

PURPOSE:To speed up the drawing of the italic characters on an output memory and to eliminate influence upon drawing data which are already drawn in an area except for the italic characters. CONSTITUTION:A character output device when accepting a request to output the italic character develops the italic character 9 on a 1st memory 5A first. Then the italic character 9 is transferred to a 2nd memory (output memory) 6A and drawn in a specific area. At this time, a rectangular area 11 is found from the development origin, base vector, and up vector of the italic character 9 on the 1st memory 5A and transferred to the 2nd memory 6A. Half-tones are generated to the same size with the rectangular area 11 so that a character frame corresponding area and other parts are made in different in bit value; and the half-tones and data in the rectangular area surrounding the italic character 9 and the drawing area are combined to draw the italic character in the specific area while performing logical arithmetic.
