METHOD FOR TREATING WASTE LIQUOR FROM PRODUCTION OF ALCOHOL

PURPOSE:To obtain a treated substance useful for improving soil, promoting plant growth, protecting plants, deodorizing, etc., and effectively utilize a waste liquor from the production of an alcohol by treating the waste liquor from the production of the alcohol with a specific microorganism under acidic and hermetically sealed conditions without aeration. CONSTITUTION:An acid-fast microorganism, capable of producing lactic acid and having =50 antagonistic value without producing butyric acid and having any pathogenicity is made to act on a waste liquor from the production of an alcohol at pH3-5 under hermetically sealed conditions without aeration. For example, Streptomyces sp. (ATCC 3004) belonging to actinomyces, Lactobacillus sp. (IFO 3070) belonging to lactic acid bacteria and Mucor sp. (IFO 8567) belonging to molds are cited as the microorganism; however, two or more thereof in combination are preferably used. Furthermore, the treating temperature is preferably 25-45 deg.C.
