PURPOSE: To obtain the title preventive which can exhibit an excellent effect of preventing the spread of turbidity in an underwater filling work by mixing a cellulose ether with a specified water-soluble polymer. ;CONSTITUTION: The title preventive comprises a cellulose ether (e.g. methylhydroxyethylcellulose) and a water-soluble polymer comprising a (co)polymer of a monomer of the formula (wherein R¹ is H or lower alkyl; R² is 1-4C alkylene; x is H, an alkali metal, NH₄ or an organic cation) or a copolymer thereof with another copolymerizable monomer (e.g. acrylamide) and having an intrinsic viscosity of 2dl/g or above when measured in a 1N aqueous NaCl solution at 30°C.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO&Japio
