INTER-MUSIC SPACE DETECTOR FOR ROTARY HEAD TYPE MAGNETIC RECORDING AND REPRODUCING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To attain simply and surely program search by detecting inter-music space depending on the shape of an envelope of a reproducing signal. CONSTITUTION:A signal whose wavelength is one over an integral number to a head gap and which is disabled to be reproduced is recorded on a magnetic recording tape 2 at the inter-music space by a recording circuit 3 at signal recording. A signal detected from the tape 2 by two rotary heads A, B at fast feed or fast rewinding of the tape 2 at signal reproduction is amplified by a preamplifier 5 and inputted to an envelope detection circuit 6. The circuit 6 applies envelope detection of a reproducing signal. Then a curved ace envelope detection circuit 7 detects a point that the envelop changes suddenly as shown in waveform a, b or c. Based on the detection result when a reel motor stop signal generating circuit 8 discriminates inter-music space, a reel motor stop signal is outputted to stop the reel motor 9 thereby finishing the program search of a music.
