FIBERS AND PULPS FOR PAPER MANUFACTURING, BASED ON A CHEMICAL COMBINATION OF POLY (METHYL-CO-MALEATE VINYL ETHER), POLYOL AND CELLULOSE FIBER FOR ITS PREPARATION
FIBERS AND PULPS FOR PAPER MANUFACTURING, BASED ON A CHEMICAL COMBINATION OF POLY (METHYL-CO-MALEATE VINYL ETHER), POLYOL AND CELLULOSE FIBER FOR ITS PREPARATION
The present invention relates to a chemically modified fiber characterized in that they are joined together chemically: a) a cellulosic fiber selected from the group consisting of chemothermomechanical pulp fiber, bleached hardwood kraft pulp fiber, wood kraft pulp fiber Unbleached Hardwood, Unbleached Softwood Kraft Pulp Fiber, Bleached Softwood Wood Sulfite Pulp Fiber, Bleached Hardwood Sulfite Pulp Fiber, Unbleached Softwood Sulfite Pulp Fiber, Sulfite Pulp Fiber unbleached hardwood, cotton linters, mercerized dissolved pulp fiber, unmercerized dissolved pulp fiber and mixtures thereof; b) a 1: 1 copolymer of poly (methyl vinyl ether-co-maleate) having an average molecular weight number in the range from 39,000 to 80,000 and c) a polyol; wherein the weight ratio of the poly (methyl vinyl ether-co-maleate) copolymer plus the polyol per unit weight of the cellulosic fiber, a), is in the range of 0.3 to 2. A papermaking pulp cellulosic, characterized in that the chemically modified fiber is any of those already described. A process for preparing a chemically modified fiber, characterized by a step of: thermal crosslinking, at a cure temperature of from 100 to 140 degrees C, for a cure time of from 120 min. 3 min; a) a pulp of starting material consisting essentially of cellulosic fiber; with an intimate blend of: b) a poly (methyl vinyl ether-co-maleate copolymer; and c) a polyol.
