The present invention relates to the use of a polymer or copolymer of a vinyl ester or n-alkyl fumarate, in which the alkyl group of said ester contains an average of 14 to 18 carbon atoms, and not more than 10 percent (weight / weight) of the ester contains alkyl groups with less than 14 carbon atoms and not more than 10 percent (weight / weight) contains alkyl groups with more than 18 carbon atoms, as an additive to improve properties, at low temperatures, of distilled fuels that boil in the range of 120 to 500 degrees C.
