The slat support ladder for a venetian blind comprises a pair of ladders having conventional cord or band rungs (AB and CD), with the ladders paired together, the slats are passed through and rested on the rungs. One ladder is then lowered to bring its rungs on top of the slat below. The ladder verticals are then connected. Alternatively, a pair of ladders have a common vertical (B). After slats are placed on rungs (BC), rungs (AB) are brought round on to; of the slats, and vertical (A) connected to vertical (C). Lift cords pass between alternate rungs.
