APPARATUS FOR RECOVERING FERRO-MANGANESE FROM MANGANESE ORE CONCENTRATES

摘要

Method of producing Mn-containing components such as ferromanganese from Mn ore concentrates consists of continuously melting and prereducing a mixture of finely ground concentrate and reducing agent in a fluidised bed melting device. The melt is separated from the off-gas and fed into an electro-furnace where it is fully reduced into Mn rich alloy melt and low Mn content slag. ADVANTAGE - Is more economic method than prior art as less secondary energy is required. It is not expensitve to refit existing arc furnaces with the required fluidised bed device.
