Method and arrangement for voiced-unvoiced decision applied in a very low rate vocoder

The method consists in considering the development of the speech signal over a given number K of successive frames, by assigning to each current frame n a score for each of the possible states of development of the speech signal, as a function of the correlation coefficients of samples distributed in each frame (1, 2, 3), in determining (5) within each current frame the state of development of the speech signal having the maximum score, in order to recover from this state the most probable state of the frame n-K, by successively passing through the maximum-score states of each preceding frame.
