A shelf or support part (2) formed, for example, by a cutlery holder (1) for setting-down or supporting articles in the household is held on a wall (21) by means of a holding device (19, 20, 35). For each shelf or support part (2) there are two holding bolts (19, 20) which are to be fixed on the wall (21) with horizontal spacing and project from the wall (21). Each shelf or support part (2) is connected to two supporting parts (22, 23), arranged on each side of it, to form a unit (1), it being possible for the supporting parts (22, 23) to be placed loosely on the holding bolts (19, 20) and to have a gripping element (24, 25) which is directed downwards and, seen in each case from the opposite holding bolt, grips behind the respective holding bolt for laterally securing the position of the shelf or support part (2). The underside of the gripping elements (24, 25) forms a resting surface so that the unit (1) formed by the shelf or support part (2) and the supporting parts (22, 23) can be placed on a different base (30, 31) independently of the holding bolts (19, 20).
