The optical vector-matrix multiplier multiplies vector and matrix having a large number of elements using parallel signal processing characteristic of light. The optical vector-matrix multiplier includes a pulse laser diode (21) for generating sequential optical pulse signals according to input vector signal, convex lenses (24,25) and a cylinder lens (26) for forming pulses generated by the pulse laser diode in the form of fine line on a surface of a disk, a beam splitter (23) for reflecting light reflected by an optical disk to a photo-detector, a convex lens (22) concentrating light generated by the laser diode (21), a CCD (29) for detecting light reflected by the splitter (23), and a convex lens (28) and a cylinder lens (27) for concentrating light reflected by the splitter (23).
