Rollers for cable-stripper - uses gearbox driving roller pairs, one fixed, one adjustable in height with spring-tensioned bearing cage

The cable stripper has the cable passing between the V-grooves of several pairs of rollers. The bottom set (e.g. 9) are all fixed in position, but the upper set (e.g.8) are adjustable in height so that different cable sizes can be accommodated. The bearings of the upper rollers are held in cages that can slide vertically on guide rails (13) and bear against compression springs (13). A stop (12a) limits the magnitude of upward movement. Each pair of rollers is driven by a gearbox, the lower one having a horizontal drive shaft, the upper one having an inclined drive shaft with universal joints. The gearbox ensures that the rollers have identical angular speed. ADVANTAGE - Robust construction accepting variable cable diameters.
