An ergonomically designed clearing saw for cleaning and releasing operations in young plantations has a circular-saw blade on the end of the tubular handle. The side-kicking tendency of the handle cuased by the saw blade is countered by the drive moment of the motor in such a way that a drive unit, arranged so that it can rotate about the drive axis of the motor, can swing out laterally when a counter-moment is applied. ADVANTAGE - Reduces the tendency of the implement to kick back or to the side, thus enabling ergonomically more favourable operation.
