Kiln cladding - has separately exchangeable ceramic plates fitted to inner kiln cladding by ceramic mountings

The cladding of a kiln, esp. an industrial annealing or firing kiln, has separately exchangeable ceramic plates (3) with a thickness of 0.2-3.0mm. They are attached to ceramic suspension mountings (2) fitted to the durable kiln cladding (1), to be exposed to the heat within the kiln. Pref. for vertical walls, the ceramic mountings are pins (2) fitted to the kiln cladding (1), for the ceramic plates (3) to be suspended from them by drilled holes. The ceramic mountings (2) can also be bolts with heads to grip neighbouring ceramic plates (3) at their corners or edges. The ceramic mountings (2) can also be guide rails, where the ceramic plates (3) are fitted by sliding into place. The ceramic cladding plates can be arranged in a shingle layout. ADVANTAGE - The system gives a selective reflection of the kiln heat, with a low heating capacity, to make full use of the energy.
