The cleaning agent comprises highly pure fully de-salted water and a solvent comprising at least 95% limonene and surface active additives. The agent contains 40-60 esp. pref. 50 % water. The cleaning process comprises cleaning the substrate using the agent at a temp. of 50 deg.C and rinsing the substrate in a 3-stage aq. rinsing process using higher, quality water for each succeeding stage and drying. USE/ADVANTAGE - For removing pastes from thick layer hybrid technology substrates. The limonene can be recycled and is not as toxic as prior art solvents used e.g. terpenes. Ultrasound can be used in the process due to the higher flame point of the solvent
