Prepn. of dry material consisting of petroleum coke and electrode residues - for anodes for aluminium@ fusion analysis etc., using simple equipment ensuring accurate results

The dry material is used for the prodn. of electrodes, in partic. the anodes for Al fusion electrolysis. The material consists of petroleum coke, and burnt and green electrode residues. These constituents are each prepd. for feeds of a grain size fraction and these feeds, in at least two fractions, are added to a mixing arrangement with a mixt. of feeds and grain size fractions. The mixt. is removed, and then by means of a classifying arrangement is, in at least two grain sizes, distributed for mixing to a dry substance. Pref. petroleum coke is prepd. to a grain size of 0-40mm (pref. 0-25mm) and the electrode residues to a grain size of 0-80mm (pref. 0-50mm). USE/ADVANTAGE - The method can be applied without large silos before the screening machines and, after the screening machines, with small silos of reasonable cost, without weighing arrangements.
