Moving grate on transverse girders, for rubbish incinerator - has grate rod rear protruding over vertical shank of angled grate bar foot, forming gap between shank and downwards flange
Moving grate on transverse girders, for rubbish incinerator - has grate rod rear protruding over vertical shank of angled grate bar foot, forming gap between shank and downwards flange
The grate for the incinerator is carried on cross-bars. It has flow channels in the grate bars to issue at an outlet in the grate bar to the fire space. The rear part (2) of the grate bar (1) should project beyond the vertical leg (4) of the angled grate bar foot (3) to give a gap 'y' between the downwards flange (6) and the leg of 6-12 mm. Leg and flange overlap by am amount 'z'=12-60 mm and the leg extends to distance 'x'=4-48 mm from the underside of the grate bar rear (2). USE/ADVANTAGE - Municipal refuse incinerators. Air flows along grate bar rear for maximum cooling effect and refuse and slag particles are kept clear of the flange/leg air channel in simple low-cost design.
