The invention relates to a device for protecting a lock, intended to render the keyhole (3) allowing operation of the said lock inaccessible to third parties, the device comprising a plate (1) secured to the door (2) provided with the said lock, and through which a slot passes giving free access to the said hole (2), and a flap (6) which can move in a vertical plane, by sliding over the front of the said plate, between at least two positions, a working position in which the flap covers over the hole (2) and a rest position in which the flap renders the said hole accessible.
