The sound module (20) comprises a box (1) containing an electronic musical unit and contained in a flexible or semi- rigid envelope (2). The envelope is hermetically sealed by welding (8). The envelope has an exterior annular rebate (7) surrounding the box. The rebate enables the module to be mounted inside a toy by being stitched (19) to the inside of a stuffed doll or animal. The envelope has a curved front surface (4) and a flat rear surface (3) which are made of synthetic transparent material. ADVANTAGE - Provides sound unit which is permanently fixed on or inside plastic or stuffed toy. Enables toy to be washed without withdrawing sound unit.
