Sound insulating panels (10) for anti-noise screens have an envelope (12) with an open front; a front wall (28) permeable to noise and an acoustic absorption layer (26) inside the envelope. A divider (14), integral with the envelope (12) and forming with it a rigid structure (16), divides the panel into two. The acoustic layer (26) is in the front part and is fixed to the front face of the divider (14). The envelope (12), internal divider (14) and front wall (28) are rigid plastics e.g. glass fibre reinforced resin. Also claimed is a fabrication method of forming the envelope and divider; bonding on the absorption layer then bonding on the front face (28). USE/ADVANTAGE - Used for anti-noise screens for roads, railways, airports; being light, durable and with good mechanical and fire resistance.
