Hermetically sealed joint cover for fibre optic cables

An hermetically sealed joint cover for fibre optic cables which does not require the use of mastic and/or miscellaneous sealants, comprises substantially a cable-joining box element (11) and at least one entry aperture (14) and one exit aperture (15) for the cables (12), said cable entry and exit apertures being provided in a base (16) connectable to a cover (17) along respective connection surfaces (16, 19) to form said box element. There is provided a seal gasket (23) of elastic material provided with at least one through hole and deformable so as to fill the apertures as an interference fit when said cover is connected to said base. The through hole is partly open outwards (26) to receive the cable to be joined, and there are seats (22) for receiving the seal gasket. The second connection surface (19) is provided with a seat containing a gasket (21) of O-ring type, which is harder than the elastomeric material of the seal gasket. IMAGE
