PURPOSE:To obtain an electrically conductive tin oxide powder having excellent dispersibility, by adding an oxidant to a mixture of a stannous salt containing an antiomonic acid salt. and an alkali solution. The resultant product is not hydroxide, but oxide and therefore becomes an electrically conductive powder without baking after drying. Stannous chloride, tin pyrophosphate, tin oxalate, etc., are used as the stannous salt. Antimony trichloride, antimony pentachloride and alkali antimonate are used as the antimonic acid salt. Hydrogen peroxide having reduced coloring (leaving no impurity) is preferred as the oxidant.
